Course Description & Photos
This semester course is designed to develop proficiency in both ceramic and sculptural skills. Students will explore pinch pot, slab, coil, carving, modeling, and wheel throwing techniques to create both utilitarian and expressive works. Media to create artworks include, but are not limited to, wire, plastic, wood, clay, mold making techniques, modeling clay, and found objects. Along with studio work, students will participate in critiques, complete written responses, artist statements, and create a comprehensive digital portfolio of their work. Art history will focus on 50 well-known masterpieces and 3D media.
