Ceramics 3D I

"Dandelion" Earthenware Clay, Paint, and Glass 2020

I handbuilt the ceramic vessel with both slab and coil techniques. When I glazed it, I originally was going to paint lemons on the vase. I didn't like how the glaze colors turned out, so I used acrylic paint to fix it. My grandma likes dandelions, so I decided to change to that. I wanted to make this for her for a Christmas present. The inside of the vase has really nice glaze.

"African Beauty"

14X12X14," ceramic bust, 2020

At first I had no idea what I was going to do for my first project so I decided to google search some ideas. I came across a really pretty bust shape and I wanted to do that shape but I wanted her to be an African American women because this was around the black lives matter protest and I wanted to show that everyone is beautiful no matter what your race is and we need to stop discriminating against them just because of their race.

I started off by taping 2 cans and a paper towel tube together for the base of the neck and shoulders, then when I finished that I taped a bunch of paper towels in to a ball for the head base, I used a bunch of sculpting tools to create texture then when it was fired I glazed it.

(SYMBOLISM & ICONOGRAPHY) What does the artwork mean? What do you want your audience to think about? Is there any symbolic imagery in the work?

(ARTISTIC GROWTH) What was most difficult for you? How did you overcome the struggles? What would you change if you started over?

(VISUAL VOICE) What style of art is this? (Realistic, Abstract, Surreal, Non-Objective?). What makes it unique to your own personal style? What do you love about it?

imovie and stop motion, 2020

This is an inprogress version of my stop motion project. I had a lot of trouble getting the photos from my phone to the computer for this project.
