Orchestra is an ensemble made up of string instruments: violin, viola, cello, and bass.

There are no afternoon or evening rehearsals. Being in an ensemble rarely conflicts with outside activities and sports.  

Beginning Orchestra performs four times a year (once a quarter): The All-District Autumn Concert, Winter Concert, Lasagna and Strings, and Spring Fine Arts Concert.

• Dayton Philharmonic Youth Ensembles

Each middle school also has an ensemble dedicated to Non-Classical music that students can audition for after one year of experience.
