AN IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT FILE UPLOAD DEADLINES
This short version is for speakers that are fully familiar with Zoom and/or are pretty familiar/technical with computers. Keep in mind there is information and resources throughout this site that is helpful to all speakers regardless of their familiarity with Zoom or their technical background. (CLICK TO EXPAND)
Make sure you record/upload your presentation in adherence to any specified file upload deadline dates
Open your PowerPoint Presentation
Go to zoom.us
Sign in and Host a meeting/with video (You can create an account for free)
Hit Record (look at the bottom toolbar of your screen for the round button that says record)
Next hit Share Screen at the bottom of your Zoom screen (big green button that says screenshare) and share PowerPoint.
If you have video clips within your presentation - select these options at the right of your Zoom share dialog prior to sharing your PowerPoint
☑️ Share Sound
Put your PowerPoint into slideshow mode
Begin your presentation
If you have a rocky start, stop recording in Zoom and start a brand new recording
When you are finished, stop recording in Zoom.
Close out of Zoom (Hit End Meeting for All)
You may see a pop up that says converting. (At this point, your recording is being converted to an mp4 file. Once it is done converting you will see a pop up box that asks where to save recording. By default this will be saved in a folder called zoom under your documents)
The file you will upload to Dropbox is typically the one that says zoom_0.mp4
Review/scan through the Zoom recording to make sure the video looks right and you can hear audio.
Upload appropriately labeled file to the specified Dropbox File Request link
This long version (the rest of this site) on how to prerecord yourself in Zoom is for speakers that are less familiar with Zoom or how to configure it. That said - the rest of this site covers some helpful information for all speakers.
If you do not already have a ZOOM Account, click on the Sign Up button to create your account
Once you've signed up for ZOOM and are signed into your account @ zoom.us, there are a couple tweaks to do while logged into your account on the web site:

Some My Video options that can help improve the webcam quality:
Mirror my video (you can check/uncheck this to see what it does in real-time) | Recommended: Your preference.
Touch up my appearance - play with the slider and you'll see that it should smooth out one's skin. | Recommended: Checked and set in middle.
Adjust for Low Light may improve the situation if there is poor lighting in your room, you're backlit or your webcam image could See the Preparation page for lighting tips. | Recommended: Checked and set for Auto

Choose a location for recorded files when the meeting ends
