Meet Mrs Telerski-Rees

Meet Mrs Telerski-Rees

Hi!  While this is my fifth year at St Matthew, I have been reading books with young people for 30 years as a mother, a school volunteer, and as a children’s librarian.  I grew up on the east side of Columbus attending Christ the King and Bishop Hartley. I received a BA in Anthropology from the University of Chicago and a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from Kent State University.  Initially I used my education in the corporate world. Then God called me to a different path and I left the workforce for 10 years to be a full time parent. During this time I volunteered in my children’s school libraries where I realized I was passionate about high quality diverse children’s literature.  When I reentered the workforce, I worked as a librarian in the Whitehall City Schools and obtained my teaching certification through the Ohio’s Intensive Pedagogical Training Institute administered through The Ohio State University.   I am a member of the American Association of School Librarians and the Ohio Educational Library Media Association and regularly participate in continuing education activities through these two organizations.

When I am not at school you will find me with family.  My husband Jeff and I have three children: a daughter Dylan who is 32, a daughter Paige who is 24 and a son Riley who is 22.  I am also the owner of a crazy mixed breed dog named Pepper. On the weekends, you will usually find me attending Mass at Holy Spirit Parish, in the garden, on a hiking trail in the Hocking Hills, or curled up reading a good book.

I am here to be of help to students and parents in the St Matthew community.  Should you ever have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to reach out.  I may be easily reached by email at mtelerski@cdeducation.org
