The Final Solution

The Final Solution is the name given to the way the leaders of Nazi Germany decided to end what they called "the Jewish menace".

During the 90 minute long Wannsee Conference held at Lake Wannsee the leaders of the Aktion 14f13 program and the leaders of Germany discussed how to make the mass murder of jews and the disposal of their bodies as efficient as possible. By the end of the conference they had decided that instead of carbon monoxide a chemical known as Zyklon B, a poisonous gas that comes in the form of pellets, would be used in the gas chambers. The also decided that instead of ovens that could only burn one body at a time, new crematoriums would be built which could burn multiple bodies at once. The Zyklon B was provided by a company known as IG Farben which was partnered with the Nazis. The Zyklon B came in pellets that when dropped into the gas chambers would become a deadly toxic gas that resulted in a slow painful death. The program came to an end as the allies advanced and the Nazis were forced to try and cover their tracks by destroying as many of the camps as possible.
