Round Two:
Stories, Interviews, and Seriousness
Stories, Interviews, and Seriousness
After analyzing the videos from round one it was determined that we would need to turn our focus to choosing interesting story or advertising ideas. The eighth grade had recently returned from our annual Maine Studies trip and that was the focus for most of our videos in this round. Some chose to report out on our experiences, and some chose to create advertisements for some of the things that we did.
As we worked on this round we talked a lot about the need to be serious when creating news or advertising. There was an understanding that we are not professionals, so even when we have a very serious lens, sometimes the resulting video is still funny because we are new and learning, and that sometimes it is okay to laugh even when that was not the intent.
Enjoy discovering what Maine Studies is like through the eyes and ears of the eighth grade!
Get an inside look at the campground and its surroundings. Be warned, you may want to make a reservation and head there yourself!
Check out what our day in Eastport was like in this video.
After an amazing trip out on the boat "Pier Pressure", where we saw all kinds of marine life, this group decided they would like to create a commercial for the company, Downeast Windjammers, to show how great the trip is and to convince others they should do it, too.
We spent two nights and three days camping. This group decided to inform viewers on some basic camping safety tips.
After our visit to the Coast Guard base in Eastport, a group of students decided they would like to tell the world about the opportunities available to people interested in joining the United States Coast Guard.
With hunting season around the corner (when we started production!) some students decided they would be providing a service to help educate people on hunting safety.
This video is brief update on how the fall sports season went for our teams.
