At CDNIS, we record our CAS experiences and project in an online portfolio called, ManageBac.
The expectation for a complete portfolio:
Log CAS experiences correctly
Evidence
Completion of supervisor review (via ManageBac or standardized letter)
OR
Periodic pieces of evidence that reflect ongoing engagement in the CAS experience.
Evidence should reflect the experience in action and/or that the experience has been completed.
For example, pictures or videos of students engaging in the experience, plans, letters from a coach or organization, certificates of completion, etc.
Reflection
The focus of reflections is on identifying how a student is progressing or achieving the seven learning outcomes. Reflections are meant to explore how well the student is meeting (or not meeting) the learning outcomes (their goals).
For all CAS experiences, a proposal and final reflection are expected. For consistent as well as intense CAS experiences, interim reflections are expected:
Consistent: once every three months;
Intense: one interim reflection;
For short experiences, no interim reflection is required.
