Swimming is an important lifelong skill especially in Hong Kong where we are never too far away from water. PE Swimming is compulsory for Grades Prep to Grade 8. Any students below or above these grades have the option of joining our ASA Swimming Programme.
The main focus in Lower School PE Swimming is to develop sufficient skills and knowledge in water safety and swimming relevant to the students age / grade.
In Lower School we have a 'minimum water safety skills criteria' chart relevant to each grade / age that students are expected to complete.
Any students who cannot meet the minimum water safety criteria are strongly encouraged to sign up to After School Swimming either in our ASA Programme or an another programme outside of CDNIS.
When students are finished Lower School, they should have sufficient swimming and water safety skills upon entering Upper School. The topics covered in Upper School PE Swimming are Swim to Survive, Aquatic Dance Sequence and Water Polo.
