Students have chosen their states and are ready for the March Madness showdown. Bare minimum participation (for a grade) is an informational poster about their state. Then they can campaign for their state to win their matchup. They can make commercials, posters, T-shirts, flyers, bookmarks; whatever they think will get the votes.
Subject: Regions of the United States
What we did today: We started out by looking at the Northeast region. We focused on our maps of the Northeast. They need to be able to identify a state on a map and the capital.
This unit will focus on the regions of the United States. They will be filling out a digital portfolio and maps packet of the regions. The digital portfolio is on Google Classroom. Their grade will consist of classwork, the portfolio completed and accurate, quizzes over each of the regions, and memorizing the states and capitals.
