Ceramic 2025-2026
My idea was to make magnets. I got the idea to make it Coralines face because we had a requirement to make magnets of somthing we like. I choose to make it Coralines face because it is one of my favorite movies.
I'm done with my project. I used airdry clay and acrilic paint to make this project. I stared with a ball of clay and made it into a slab. Then i rolled out more clay and made 3 circles and attched two for eyes and made her hair clip with the third one. Once it was dried i mixed my paint colors and painted everything.
The most difficult part was getting the shade of everything right. When I couldn't figure out i would look up what colors to mix to make the chade i want.
This artwork is a expressive magnet. It's unique because i made it and its my design.
Dani Payne "Flowers" 1

My idea was to make flowers coming out of a vase on a slab. I got the idea by thinking about some of my favorite things and one is flowers. I choose to make my flowers all different shapes, sizes, colors, and types of flowers.
I'm done with my project. I used stoneware clay and glaze to make this project. I stared with the flat slab. Then i put on the vase and made the flowers then attached them. I fired the painting then glazed it.
The most difficult part was getting the shape and size of the flowers right. When I couldn't figure out how to get the flowers right I looked up different pictures of that flower and kept trying. If I started over, I would do a larger slab so i could make more types of flowers.
This artwork is a expressive ceramic flower boquet. It's unique because it's made by me. I like how all the flowers look different and all of the colors.
Dani Payne "Wheel bowls" 6

My idea was to make bowls, a cup, and a vase. I got the idea because i had a bit of extra clay and it needed to be used. I choose to make bowls because i wanted to be able to put more used things in it on my dresser, the cup for water when i paint and the vase because i have lego flowers all over my room and would like to put them in a hand made vase.
I'm done with my project. I used stoneware clay and glaze to make this project. I stared with 3 softball size and 2 more balls of clay that were a bit larger then a softball. Then i threw them on the wheel till i got my desired saze and shape. After that they were fired and i then glazed them.
The most difficult part was sealing the clay so it didnt move and getting the walls thin enough. I couldnt seal them so i asked for help and had to restart twice because the walls were not even the too thin. After a few trys i got them how i wanted them.
These artworks are utilitarian ceramic bowl. It's unique because i made them. I like the colors and all the different shapes and sizes.
Dani Payne "Large Vessel"

My idea was to make a very large pot. I wanted it to have two different faces on it. I got the idea because we had to make a large vessel. I choose to make it have different faces because i wanted it to be unique.
I'm done with my project. I used stoneware clay and glaze to make this project. I stared with about a half a box of clay. Then i used the coil extruder. I put layers of coils on top of each other and smoothed them. Then i added the faces. After that they were fired i sanded them and i then glazed them.
The most difficult part was smoothing the coils so it was sturdy. I
