My painting is of a medieval knight in a forest in the style of realism. I got the inspirations from portraits of knights I've seen in movies or in video games. It did not evolve except for the background which was originally planned to be more detailed. I had to simplify it in order to finish my painting within the time limit. I used acrylic paint to paint the background a light yellow before transfering my reference with transfer paper. Once it was transfered I painted the pieces of armor one at a time trying to be as detailed as possible. Once the knight was fully done I blended colors on the canvas in order to make a background that put emphasis on the knight. After that was painted I added trees and leaves to fully finish it. I did not intend for my artwork to have any symbolism or meaning. Painting around the knight was the most difficult part of the assignment, so my next painting I will paint the background first.
