Nicolas Lee ”Mountains"
18X24," Charcoal and Pencils, 2018
The style of the mountain is realism. This was my first drawing of the semester. I wanted to draw with graphite and found a picture of some mountains. If I started over I would use watercolor and make some washes of color. I really like how the drawing turned out. It has a lot of shading.
Nic Lee "Molina"
18x24" Colored Pencils, 2018
I wanted to draw a picture of Molina. Molina is a catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. He is my favorite player. Because the gray background was taking too long, I added the writing of Molina and the number 4. This gives it more interest and makes it look like a baseball card.
I am getting this framed and hanging it in my room because I like how it turned out.
Nic Lee "American Eagle"
12x18" Colored Pencil 2018
I was searching for an animal to draw and I thought of an eagle. I drew the eagle first and added the flag into the background to make it look more interesting. I originally wanted to make the flag look like it was blowing in the wind, but it was not working out. I like the details in the feathers and how parts of the flag look faded.
Nic Lee "Derby Car"
12x18" Pastel Pencils 2018
This drawing came from a photo that I took myself. This is my uncle's derby car and I took the picture at the fair here in DeWitt. The front of the car was the most difficult because of all the details. I really like how the overall drawing looks.
