My idea was to make a jewelry holder in the shape of a flower and I think it looks like that, i got this idea because i saw some jewelry holders like this on websites to buy, so i thought i would just make it myself. First i used the slab roller to roll out a flat surface and then i cut out and shaped the squiggles so it looked like a flower, and then I rolled out some clay to put of as a ring to make it look more 3D. then after it dried I glazed it a bleu is green color. My artwork symbolizes a flower, and I want my audience to think it looks lies a flower. The most difficult part for me was trying to make it in the shape of a flower that i was desired with. if i started over I would make it bigger. I would say the style is realistic because it looks somewhat like a flower and i love the different color variation in it.
My idea was to make a vase with flowers imprinted on it. I got this idea because i saw a flower and i wanted to press it into my vase and it evolved well. First what i did was make the vase by slabbing my clay and then constructing the vase together. I just used my hands and a slab roller to create the vase and then a flower to imprint it on the vase for texture. My artwork doesn't necessarily mean anything but i want my audience to think what it is which is a vase. What was most difficult for me was when the clay was too thin and then it kept falling over, so i had to keep redoing it. If i started over I would make the clay thicker from the beginning. I love the color of this, even though it isn't that bright I still enjoy it and i really love the imprints of the flowers.
My idea was to make a set of matching mugs, i got this idea because my grandmother drinks tea everyday so it reminded me that i can make mugs for a utilitarian art. For this i used the slab roller to make the base and the sides and then i used a sponge to smooth it all out, and then later on glazed it. My artwork symbolized the everyday use of a cup that people drink out of and I want my audience to veiw it as a modern day drinking cup. The most difficult part was trying to make the length of the cup the same size, but one of my mugs is taller than the other. I would say its non-objective because i wasnt making it look like somethings that I saw , this makes it unique because i made it and it doesnt look like something anyone else made.
My idea was supposed to resemble a starfish and i got this idea because when i saw one at the beach a while back. My process to making this was to get the right thickness of my clay and then shaping it into a starfish and kind of molding the clay so the ends of its legs curve a different way. Then after it dried i pointed it by mixing tow colors, orange and pink, and painting red and orange dots. The artwork means peace just like starfishes and I want my audience to visualize a beautiful sea creature. What was most difficult for me was shaping the starfish how I liked it because the clay kept drying up and I had to keep adding water. I overcame my troubles by adding water and just getting used to having to add water, if i started over i would change the size of the balls on the starfish because they are a little too big. This is realistic because I wanted it to look like a starfish, and it somewhat does. This makes it my own style because I made it and no other art I made looks like it. I love the color shade that i made and I think it looks close to the color of a starfish I saw.
The idea of this stop motion artwork was to be a frog jumping from lily pad to lily pad and then jumping off. I got this idea from my house because i have a pond at my house and we have a frog that always likes to jump around. First what me and my partner did was sketch and paint the background of a tree and then the pond, then we cut out cardboard and panted them green to look like lily pads. Then we shaped a frog out of clay. My artwork doesn't necessarily symbolize anything just a frog jumping around on lily pads. I want my audience to think what it is. The most difficult thing was the coloring of the frog and the shape, because the frog kept falling apart, and it was never the satisfied color we wanted. We overcame our struggles by being carful with how we shaped it so it wouldnt just crumble. If I started over I would change the pictures we took because they werent the best but it was the best we could do in that moment. This art is realistic because we wanted it to look like a real frog.
