Drawing II

Mya Petersen, "Grow"

12x18, charcoal on paper, 2019

The style of my drawing is realism because I drew it as the picture looked. This plant was given to me by my older sister who I don't see a lot. If I could start over I would make it darker in some spots and make the highlights better. I love how the shadow turned out and how well it matches the shapes.

Mya Petersen, "Olive"

9 x 12, colored pencil on paper, 2019

The style of this drawing is realism because there are only real elements and you can tell what it is. This is a drawing of my cat that we have had for three years and last semester I drew my other cat. If i could start over, I would fix the one spot on the body that looks smeared. My favorite part of this drawing is the cats eyes or the pillow in the background.

Mya Petersen, "Sunrise Palm"

12 x 18, ink on paper, 2019

The style of this drawing is realism but the color in the back makes it not exactly like the picture. This is important to me because I took this in Florida with my friend on our first morning there while we were exploring the hotel. This reminds me about the warm days and palm trees in Florida. If I were to start over I would make sure the windows were more evenly lined up. What I love most is the color in the background with the palm tree in the middle as the main focus.

Mya Petersen, "Leaves"

12 x 18, pastel on paper, 2019

The style of this drawing is realism because you can tell what it is. This plant reminds me of when I was a child because this was my favorite plant. If I could start over I would make the edges more defined because they are kind of soft. One thing I really love is the colors in this drawing.
