Canvas paper, 2025
This is my baseline painting. I got the idea from a picture I found on google. I thought it would be fun to paint because of the colors and the techniques I used. Painting this was fun because I used fine brushes and I splattered paint for the stars. The tree was easy because I drew it on there before hand so then I just painted it black. The sky was pretty hard to get the right color. The grass was pretty easy but when I got to trying to lift it and trying to put the grass strands down was hard because my brush wasn't small enough.
My intention with this artwork was to give people a image that represents how loneliness can be beautiful and good. The tree represents being lonely and enjoying it. When people look at my artwork I want them to think about how much the people you love care about you, and that your not as lonely as you think.
The most difficult think for me was trying to make the stars look right and the tree look somewhat proportioned. The grass at the bottom was also pretty hard. If I started over some things I would change is that I would add more stars and make the sky look a little more realistic and maybe add some clouds, and a sunset.
This artwork is non objective. What makes it unique to my style is the sky and the stars, because most of my paintings are pictures of me doung what I love to do. Some things I love about it are the stars the color of the sky and the grass. I think they all look good and are unique.
Acrylic canvas board, 2025
My idea for this artwork was to show a football player walking onto the field and the feeling of getting ready for a game. I got the idea because football is a big part of my life, and I wanted to capture a moment that feels calm but powerful. I was inspired by the experience of standing on the sideline before a play and thinking about what comes next.
To create this artwork, I used acrylic paint on a canvas board. I started by sketching the figure, then added the background colors and details like the uniform and the signs behind the player. I used layering to make the colors look bold, and I tried a new technique by painting the jersey white first to make the paint pop more.
My intention was to show focus determination, and the feeling of being in your own world before a big moment. My back is turned because I wanted viewers to imagine themselves in my place. The bright colors represent energy and excitement, and the empty field ahead symbolizes opportunity for what can happen. I want the audience to think about what it feels like to prepare for something important and for a big moment.
The most difficult part for me was getting the proportions of the body right and keeping the lines clean. I overcame this by slowing down and re-sketching until it looked correct. If I started over, I would add more shading and detail to make the scene look even more realistic. This artwork is mostly realistic with some simplified details. It is unique to my style because I focused on strong colors and a clear, bold figure in the center. I love the piece because it shows something meaningful to me, like football and captures a moment I’ve experienced many times that is one of my favorite moments of my life that I will remember forever.
Ceiling tile, 2025
This artwork isnt done yet but my idea for this artwork is to paint it yellow and then paint the saber logo on it. I chose this idea because I wanted to paint a ceiling tile for Mr. Waterbury. I got the idea after me and cael were talking and he brought up making something for Mr.Waterbury and we chose to start with a ceiling tile.
To create this piece, I painted a ceiling tile using acrylic paint. I used multiple layers of yellow to make the color look smooth and bold. I experimented with different brushstrokes to make the surface even. This was new for me because I usually work with smaller paintings that have more detail.
My intention is to give back to someone who has helped me a lot in high school so far. I want the audience to know how much coach Waterbury has helped me over the years.
