Logan Pitts “Snake-pot”
7x7, clay, 2018
The style of this sculpture is realism. I first had the idea two days before we were supposed to be done so I began working quickly. I first started with cutting a slab into an oval and then made coils for the body of the snake. If I had to start over I would have taken my time on the scales and on the mouth i would have added teeth. I love that I will be able to use the bowl.
Logan Pitts “Heart box”
3x 7, clay, 2018
The style of the sculpture is realism. I first had this idea because I know I wanted to make something for my girlfriend. I then made two clay slabs and cut out equal sized hearts and made a coil then put it all together using slip. If I started over I would have made sure both hearts were the exact same size. I love that the coat of glaze I put on really turned out and look like a solid color.
Logan Pitts “Bowl”
3x4, clay, 2018
The style of this sculpture is realism. I made this sculpture using the wheel which was a lot more difficult that I originally thought. If I had to start over I would make sure the cone of clay is fully centered before messing with it. I love that someone will be able to use something that I made to eat out of.
Logan Pitts “Sunflower”
12in, Wire, 2018
The style of this sculpture is realism and its made out of wire. The development started with the stem and worked my way up to the pedals. If I started over one thing I would change is I would have used more wire and made it stronger. I like that it was able to resemble a flower a little bit.
