Lauren Burmeister "Asher"
3.5 x 3.5 inch. , Acrylic on Paper , 2025
As my baseline drawing I decided to paint my aunts dog. She just got a new puppy and I wanted to paint him because he's so cute! I received a pice of thick paper from Ms.Garrity and I had a reference. I started sketching him out and then I started painting him and then started adding the details and then I had a finished product! The dog is very special to me, hes so sweet and I wanted to paint him and give him to my aunt when school is over. The most difficult thing for me was doing the fur pattern he has. He has spots all over and to make it look like fur I used a toothbrush, and it worked. I love to paint realistic animal portraits. It makes it more unique because its not just realism but it looks cartoony a little bit.
Lauren Burmeister "Sushi Shop"
"8 x 12" inch. , Acrylic on Canvas , 2025
My Inspiration for this painting was the fact I just love the food sushi. This painting is my own photo that I referenced from when I ate sushi and octopus sashimi at the sushi restaurant "QC Sushi". To start I painted the background of the painting the color of the table. I then started with the grain of the table, to the plates the sushi is heald on. I finally painted the soy sauce, takoyaki, sushi, and the octopus sashimi. The art work has no symbolic meaning, it really is just a painting to symbolize my favorite food. The most challenging part was trying realism besides animals for the first time. If I where to start over I think I would shade some more then what I did. The style of art is realistic, I am really proud of how it has turned out especially since this is my first time painting realistic objects.
