The materials I used for my mask was plastor, feathers, paint, pipe cleaners, and a necklace. The source of inspiration I use for my work was whenever I go fishing with my dad and friends it’s always a good time. When my family and I go down to florida we always love it down their because the warm weather, beaches, and swimming in our pool. The process for creating my work was first to plaster, then figure out what paint would look the best on the mask. Once the second coat would be painted I will then decide what objects I will put on the mask to go with my theme. An idea that I thought that would be bold but I stuck with it was my red paint to represent the bobber. I thought this was a bold move because the red was pretty bright and there would be a lot of it, but I stuck with it and it turned out perfect. Something new I tried was the unibrow on the fish. I’ve never tried doing a unibrow on a fish because usually fish don’t have unibrows or eyebrows in general. The thing I am most proud of about my mask is everything. I am happy that all things that I added, painted, and plastored turned out. I think everything flows with my work because it uses good balance in all areas. If I could start over I would choose whole different topic because my interest is a lot more out there in the world. I would choose something that I think I would never do because I feel that I am creative and work well with any topic or idea.

“Golden Mantella”
Dimensions (9 x 12 inches)
The source of my information for my work is that I have seen a frog in nature and petco and I wouldn’t want them to go extinct because I think they’re cool. The process for my creation is I first decided what animal I would like to do. Next, I will draw that animal in my sketchbook. After that, I am going to hot glue the animals outline on the new sheet of paper. Then, I will color the artwork with oil pastels to give it attention to it. Finally, I will crack the artwork to give it some texture. A challenge I went through was, I used chalk to draw my lily pad and I was supposed to use oil pastel. It ended up looking like I wanted it to. If I were to start over, I would do a different animal that is endangered to show how I care for them.

“Christmas thingy”
Dimensions (4½ x 4 x ¾ inches)
The source of inspiration for my work is that christmas is one of my favorite times of the year because, you get time off from school and you spend time with you’re family. The process I went through for creating my piece of artwork was that I first grabbed some clay and molded it. Then, I painted the colors I wanted on it. Finally, our teacher put our pieces in the kiln, which makes it all smooth and the colors come out. I thought I was not going to have enough room to include all of my requirements but I used my space wisely and got it done. A risk I took was I painted my candy cane kind of purple and it turned out alright. I would of rather of painted it purple and white stripes. What I like about my work is that in involves a lot of colors and flows well. If I could change anything I would do a whole different topic on sports or something besides holidays because my biggest interest is sports.
