My idea is a photo of me and my friend. I got the idea of using a photo of us because one of the 4 ideas had to be a portrait. First I started out having a grid on my paper to help me center the drawing and objects in it. Because without the grid it wouldn't be as symmetrical. Then I just started outlining things that were big and I took them into detail after I added everything else in the drawing. After that I started drawing Grace first and then me next to her. But I had some help with the size of us and the structure of our faces. The tools I used was a ruler, pencil, eraser, and a blending tool. The artwork means friendship and happiness because we are showing our smiles from the picture. I want my audience to think about where we are at and what we are doing. The most difficult part for me was drawing our faces and making them even and to make them look like us in a way so I wasn't totally off. But my teacher helped me with that. I over came the struggles by erasing it and doing it a different way from what I had already done so I didn't make the mistake over and over again. If I could start over I would change the background and actually make the brick building in the back to look like a building. so then the hawkeyes sign doesn't look like it is just there. I would also change how me and Grace are standing because it kind of looks like we are one body. This is realistic art.

My idea for this collage was to make a flower from cuttings out of a magazine and the background cut out from a magazine as well, with page pieces from a book. Then I just started layering them down on top of each other and laying it out how I liked it, once I was done with that I took everything off except the first layer and with the first layer I took modge podge and layered it on all over the first layer of pieces. Then I just continued you this with each layer until it was the final layer where I just had to add modge podge all over the whole thing. The tools I used was scissors, paint brush, and a pencil to outline the pedals so I could cut them out. The artwork means calm and collective because I feel like the image gives off a good vibe. I want the audience to think about what they are seeing and what the image is and how the image was created and maybe what books I took the images out of to make it become one. The most difficult part was lining up the pieces where I wanted them and making sure they all took up space somewhere so there wasn't any bland areas on the paper. I overcame my struggles by just trusting myself and putting them where I thought they would look best. If I could start this project over I would probably make the flower bigger by changing the pedal sizes. This is collage/still life art.

This is my animal drawing, and I decided to do a gecko/lizard animal. I wanted to do this animal because most usually just draw a dog or cat or something, just normal or known, but I wanted this to be unique. And it also reminded me of Rapunzel. I started with tracing the outline of the animal, and then I began to make my lines thicker to make sure I had it lined and shaped how I wanted it to be. Once I was done with that, I moved to the eyes of the lizard and then I shaped and traced them and colored them turquoise. I then outlined the animal with a dark green so then the lines on the lizard would pop more and you would then see the lines that made it unique. The tools I used was pencils, eraser, and colored pencils. The artwork means friendly and cute. I want the audience to think it is a cute drawing and I want them to really notice the green. I want the audience to think about where they see this animal living and what environment they are from or maybe what colors they could turn into. The most difficult part was probably making the eyes the same shape and size. I overcame the struggles by just erasing them and drawing them over and over again until I got it down. If I could start this project over I would maybe change the color of the animal or even draw a different animal. This is animal with colored art.

This is my landscape drawing and I decided to go with a sunset type look with two pine trees in the view that look like they are already fully in the dark along with the moon out and a black ground too. I started with the pastel colors of purple and started with dark at the top and worked my way down with lighter shades of purple and then started to just layer the colors and then I thought it would be a good idea to blend it in with my fingers to make it look more of a smeared look for a sky vision so I did that. After I got done drawing my background sunset I drew a small hill and then two tall pine trees in black. I made sure to press hard with the black so it would come out nice and dark. After that I smeared out the sides of the sunset onto the edges where it is still white to give it a better look. After that I took a dark pastel purple color and went along the outside of the drawing and drew one big line so it made the drawing pop more. The tools I used was colored pastels. pencil, eraser, and ruler. The artwork gives off a relaxing and beautiful vibe. I want the audience to think about a vacation spot they've been to or even just a sunset in there minds. The most difficult part was blending in the color pastels of purple shades. I overcame the struggles by just continuing to keep blending and coloring it more. If I could start this project over I would take more time on the trees. This art is landscape colored.
