My artwork is a recreation drawing of a Top Fuel Dragster, but this one is Dewitt and Saber Pride-themed. I got this idea because I am a huge fan of racing and other motorsports. Most of my inspiration for this piece came from my childhood. As a kid, and still to this day, my family and I would go to Cordova to watch these 11,000-hp monster launches. It was one of my fondest memories. I still can hear those engines screaming in my head.
My process was pretty straightforward. I started with the big wheel and the Engine block because I knew I was going to want that to be the most detailed part. I used a blend of tools: watercolors, colored pencils, paint markers, and Sharpies. My style is to use mixed elements; it's just how I am, and I like the idea of texture in a drawing.
My artwork is just simply a what if. a what if DeWitt decides to do motorsport what if DeWitt came together. I think something people should look at is the fact that the sponsors on the car are only Dewitt businesses like Randys or Cups and Cones places that anybody who calls DeWitt their home will recognize.
Id say the most difficult part was just making the shapes was the hardest because in real life these cars are the most perfect car and I really wanted to show that in my art.
my art is a blend of realism and abstract I'd say. One thing I love about my work is that I get to use new things that I have never used before so I get out of my zone and try something new.

my idea for this drawing was to make a drawing about my favorite Stock car NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt. i got the idea after thinking about being a race car driver someday because I play racing games and watch racing. my drawing isn't an original idea countless people have made drawings of famous people by there cars and them in a faded image before.
I started my drawing with the car because I figured that would be a much easier thing to draw and would get me warmed up to drawling Grey Scale for the first time. i used a blend of shaded pencils and shading sticks.
what does this artwork mean it means to show that even though somebody has been gone for 23 years now he still has not been forgotten and there are people who still look up to him. i don't want my audience to think of this as just a drawling of a race car driver but as one of the most Iconic people in the world.
The car was the signal hardest thing to do in this whole project. i had to redraw it because of my scaling issues. i overcame this by using templates to help and also by just slowly working chunk by chunk. if I could go back and change it I would change the look of the car to make it look more like the portrait of Dale.
My drawing is a grey-scale pencil drawing I think something that makes it my own is you can see that my lines aren't perfect and I'm ok with that its just my style.
