My first idea for this dog is because I love German shepherds and grew up with 2 of them. So I decided to create one I had yet to make up his name but I got a couple of ideas. I got the idea to draw it from my best friend Delaney. I found a picture reference and started shading and blending my pencil into one another.
I had a major process with this "Dog". I found a picture reference on Google copied it put it on canva and then put a grid on it then asked my teacher to print it off for me and she printed it off in color. I grabbed a sheet of paper 11''x14'' and first I measured my numbers and made a grid on the blank piece of paper. I started from the bottom and made my way up to the top to the ears which was the hardest part then I did the eyes and shaded everything when I was done. I mostly used a blending stick and eraser to do that.
What this piece of beauty means to me. This means a pretty big deal because I grew up with 2 German shepherds and one passed away when I was ten and it slept by me when I was very very young named Echo. The other dog is still named Bruin he lives with my brother now he's a great dain mixed and he's awesome and very protective he's (a big dog and chased us while we were riding dirtbikes. I would love the audience to think about getting a pup because they help you relax and just make everything better.
The most difficult thing about this artwork is doing the mouth because there were so many shades you had to do and put there, which took the longest time. I sought help from my teacher and she helped me shade the mouth which was the hardest part to do. I wouldn't change anything about this piece of art.
This is a realistic drawing because it's a real-life thing. I strive for realism but my style is more regional artist over the midwest. I really love my art work because it was just so good not to do it and I really like the breed of a German shepherd.
