This was my first painting of this year. I was told we had to pick a still life or a card from the cabinets. I was the last to pick an item so I got stuck with this vintage-ish flowerpot. With this being my first painting I wanted to rush because I was very eager to start my first official project. For this project, I used different size brushes, pencil, watercolor, and acrylic paint. This painting in my opinion doesn't really symbolize anything. If I wanted someone to look at it, I'd want them to maybe think about if that person has flowers as decorations, or maybe plan on getting some. I had a lot of difficulties trying to find a good paintbrush because at the time I was rushing and all the paintbrushes I found had loose bristles. If I had the time to start over I would have completely different paintbrushes and take a lot more time on details and color. I overcame my struggles by trying to just lightly paint the surface with the brush so it didn't make too much of a mess. This is a realistic piece of art. It is unique to my style because of how I faded the can from light to dark. The color of the can is my favorite.
