My pumpkin was a bit confusing at first, the coils were hard to keep in my command and I kept thinking it was too thin and lopsided. It was not, the coils got harder to smooth out as I got to the top. I solved that with the red tool and a sponge. I didn't understand that I could carve out the top so carving out the top was so much easier. Glazing was easy, I got the inside done quick and the outside done just as fast. I thought the stem was going to come out more of a green but instead it came out a black or brown color and I like it a bit more I think!
My charcuterie board was pretty easy if im being honest. I knew exactly what I wanted to do once I found the idea. The idea I went for is a ladybug. I made a few spots too thick or too thin so the teacher helped me with that. She also helped me smooth it out. I was originally going to add legs onto the bottom but i found that I couldn't find a way to do it.
My pitcher was a bit hard, I was gone most of the week so I had to have the teacher help me with a lot of it. I was disappointed with the result because it wasn't my original design. I was going for a pitcher plant design. The actual pitcher was supposed to be a pink color and I was orinally going to add a handle and make it green to look like the vine the plant hangs from had curled to form a handle.
My magnet was my first project I did. I had trouble putting on the flower. I think I made it too long and if I could go back I would just remove it. I would also smooth it out and find a different way to put on the actual flytraps. I think if I had cut them out as a whole piece, stem and head, and layered them on that way it would have turn out a lot better.
For my choice project, I chose to do a headstone. I chose this because cemeteries have always been a big part of my life. I find peace in them where others might find them eerie. Unfortunately, I find my headstone to be very disappointing. I hate how the colors turned out. The headstone's color looks too new and off and the color of the grass is this gross brownish color. I was going for more of an old, rotting headstone around green grass. I also think that the cross looks extremely off, I would have carved some more square and sharp pieces if I could go back. I also really dislike how you can't see the letters or carvings extremely well. I wish I would have dabbed a paper towel to clean up any extra glaze. I do, however, like the carvings on the side and top of the headstone I think those came out good. I find it extremely upsetting that this project turned out so bad, I was looking forward to it.
