Drawing II

Carly Small "Daisies"

12x18, Graphite Powder and Colored Pencils, 2019

The style of my drawing is surrealism. Some symbolism I wanted to identify was how the bright colors around the girl in grey show how we shouldn't always pay attention to the negatives in life and how we should appreciate the greatness and beauty that is around and brought to us. One thing I would change is probably the number of flowers I have in my drawing. I would've liked to add more flowers so I could've had more variety of colors shown. What I love most about it are the flowers because I think they look very realistic to me in this drawing.

Carly Small “When pigs…float?”

18x24, Chalk and Colored Pencil, 2019

The style of my drawing is surrealism. Some symbolism I wanted to show in my drawing was how the pig on the bottom looks up to the one floating in the air to represent how parents are always wanting to see their children succeed and achieve their goals. Some things I would change if I was able to start over is the detail on the pigs. I wish I could’ve added a little more effort into the color and shading done for the pigs to make it look more realistic. What I love about it is how the colors of the balloons really pop out with the sky’s color in the background.
