Braydan Davis "Jordan Flight"
9 x 12, Graphite on paper, 2024
My drawing is a Jordan 4, one of Micheal Jordans most iconic model of shoes. I got the idea from brain storming shoes I really enjoy, and the Jordan 4 was one of the first ones to come to mind. I own a pair of these shoes.
I started by searching up pictures of shoes. I found a picture of the Industrial Blue Jordan 4's and wanted to draw it. I started from the bottom and worked up when drawing. I didn't really use any special techniques I just looked at a picture and replicated it the best I could.
This drawing represents my passion and love for shoes. When someone sees this I would like them to think about how much this shoe has changed the shoe game, and how much the shoe game changed due to Micheal Jordan.
I struggled the most with the shoe laces. I eventually got a hang of it after a lot of trial and error. If I could start over I would take more time to make the lines straighter, and look a little more realistic.
Braydan Davis "Mug on Wood"
4 x 6 , Colored pencil, and sharpie, 2024
My idea was to draw a white coffee mug on a wood table. I got this idea from a picture card, I started off by drawing the cup and then drew the top of the table and colored the background. I dont really ever use a coffee mug but my parents do when they drink coffee in the mornings.
I started off my focusing on getting the cup drawn, after that i just drew a straight line near the bottom of the cup. I didn't use to many technics i free eyed the cup and i used a ruler to draw the straight line for the table.
This art work is just a calming piece of art nothing to much behind it meaning wise. I would like people to just look at it and think its clean.
The most difficult part was drawing the the cup and keeping the lines straight. I first sketched it with pencil until i got it straight enough and them traced over it with sharpie. If i had started over i would have added more to the background.
The style of art is pop art. A lot of the art I do is pop or realistic . My favorite part is how i did the cup and how accurate it looks.
