Austin Yackle “OBLIVIOUS”
16 x 20, Portrait, 2022
This is a representation of how sometimes individuals are blinded by love, they don’t see the facades within someone or something. In this painting, we see a heavenly woman, but if you look at the details you can tell the painting isn’t fully complete, we don't receive the full picture of her. We perceive things with one glance without even knowing who or what they are. This piece used color-mixed acrylic paints to get the overall achievement of this painting. By incorporating the dry brush blending technique, I received an overall well-blended piece. Sculpting the facial features with the paint was a difficult process, but in the end, it looks cohesive and what I thought it to look like. What I want to take away from this is: that you are bettering yourself on techniques with your paint and that is what matters!
