"SpongeBob Scream Pants"
9x12, Colored Pencils, Pencil
2021
The Scream was my inspiration for my art piece. I started with a pencil sketch, I used a ruler to make the straight lines for my bridge platform and railings. After I was done sketching I started coloring, and so forth. When I faced challenges like my colored pencils making a mark in the paper, (indents) I just went over the area a bit darker by using pressure, other than that I didn't face any other challenges, but the challenges I did face, I could overcome them. A risk I took was when I got the edges of the paper. I had colored around the corners fast and the edges and that meant I had the risk of accidentally indenting the sides toward the middle, it's hard to explain. What I like most about my workpiece is Spongebob, he is the main character of the work, and the most noticeable part is how he turned out. If I had the chance to start over I would change the flowers in the sky from the cartoon to be more noticeable, and make some better color choices to make it seem more from the T.V. show.

"Collection Piece"
2021
Digital Artwork
My inspiration was fruits. I started by sketching the fruits I wanted. I thought about how hard it would be to draw them so I picked simple fruits. I kept trying because I wanted to show my art skills and because I wanted a good grade. One creative risk I took was putting dots on the banana. I thought it would look great and it turned out okay. I like my banana because it looks good. I would change the apple because the apple doesn't look like it's doing so hot.
Amelia Griffin "Silent View"
12x18, Graphite Pencils, 2021
My inspiration was my grandpa's helmet from when he served in World War II. He risked his life for the greater good of the next generations here in America. It inspired me to make a memorial for what he did. My process was I started with a sketch, then I started my final and sketched it out there. I also then started adding in details starting with the monument at the memorial itself, and so on. My persistence showed because I asked people for feedback and tried to improve on what needed. Something new I tried was making a piece of work using graphite pencils. I most like the marble details on the monument I think it turned out nice. If I could start over I would work on the bench it turned out a little wonky, but since it isn't the main vision point so I think it is okay.

"Cotton Candy"
(Loom Piece)
Yarn, Cardboard, string
2021
My inspiration was cotton candy because it is sweet which gave me the thought of bright colors, and since you can buy pink or blue cotton candy I chose both colors. My process was that I started by making my plan, then making my cardboard loom, then I added the strings, then I started adding tassels, and then eventually I started weaving. One challenge I faced was tying it off, I was confused but I made it work. Something new that I learned in the process is how to make my loom. This means I can do it at home now when I'm bored. What I like most about my loom is that it is vibrant and soft, and the blue yarn has hints of silver in it. If I could start over and change something, I would add blue and pink tassels because I think that would be very pretty.
