TRANSITIONS:
Use what you know to shape your future
This class will discuss how to use what you have learned in high school that can be used towards your success in your next phase, whether it’s college, a gap year, or a new job. As the saying goes, happiness isn’t a destination, it’s a way to travel. So what do you have in your suitcase now? What will you need along the way?
For college-bound students, we will look at a new set of study skills, how to take good notes, how to read a syllabus, visit with tutors and writing centers, talk to your professors, and most importantly, how to manage your time, so you can meet deadlines and still have time for yourself, sleep, and even reward yourself for a job well done. Other phases require many of the same skills, actually. So we will talk about the ways to identify what's working, or what you need help with, for example, how do you know if you are in the right major or job? What are some factors to consider?
