Standard: Creative Communicator-communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively by creating or using a variety of digital objects such as visualizations, models or simulations.
Standard: Knowledge Constructor-plan and employ effective research strategies to locate information and other resources for their intellectual or creative pursuits.
Rationale: With the current #fakenews era, it can be hard for a student to evaluate if a source is reliable or not. This digital poster that I made simplifies the process as it assists students in their research with step by step questions to look at the credentials of sources and determine if it is reliable. These steps are critical for writers to include in their research process so they create an informative product that is strong.
Standard: Empowered Learner-use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practice and to demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways.
Rationale: This stakeholder Input Survey was created using google drive, which allows me to use technology to receive input from the students in my course. This format of assessment will also allow me to turn the results into tables to compare my results. Once the results have been gathered, I will reflect on the information and use it to change my classroom management, the culture established in my classroom, my grading policies, and my instruction/activities.
Standard: Knowledge Constructor-Students critically curate a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts and make meaningful learning experiences for themselves and others
Standard: Innovative Designer-Students use a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful or imaginative solutions.
Rationale: This Blended Learning, which includes TPACK and SAMR Hyperdoc activity has students completing an anticipatory survey, watching videos to provide context for the activity, using critical thinking skills for survival, collaborating with peers as they work together, make a plan, and create slides, and then finally completing a reflection where they evaluate what did/did not work for their groups, their role in the product, and what they learned about themselves. Everything for this activity is done using technology.
Standard: Knowledge Constructor-Students critically curate a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts and make meaningful learning experiences for themselves and others
Rationale: I made this resource using a Google Slide and recording my teaching using Screencastify. This Flipped classroom approach has me using digital tools to create a learning experience for my students to gain better knowledge and to help them become better writers.
Standard: Creative Communicator- Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals
Rationale: Students are analyzing theme in short American Literature stories where students will discuss the story, research online what others have said about the story, create a digital storyboard, which they will then turn in to a digital short using a blended classroom style and different SAMR and TPACK levels.
Artifact: Incorporating Google Calendars into my ESL teaching
Standard: Global Collaborator-Students use digital tools to broaden their perspectives and enrich their learning by collaborating with others and working effectively in teams locally and globally.
Rationale: Incorporating the digital tool, Google Calendar, helped me to improve the organization at work and collaborate with the other professionals at my school.
