Computer CODING Year One

WELCOME TO COMPUTER CODING!

In this rotation you will learn basic Swift coding and block coding using the iPad application called Swift Playgrounds. You will understand basic terminology in computer coding and be able to code different robots to do different things. This website gives you information on all assignments, including rubrics and grading standards. Use it to help you complete your tasks and meet (and exceed!!) standards on the assignments.

All students are graded using the following 2 standards on each assignment:

ISTE Student Standard 4: Innovative designer

(I call this the "coding grade") - Student uses a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful or imaginative solutions by creating code that enables a robot to complete a variety of actions.

ISTE Student Standard 6: Creative COmmunicator

(I call this the "presentation grade") - Student communicates clearly and expresses him/herself creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.
