November 13, 2017= a whole day of kindness for the middle school students, staff, and community
November 13 is World Kindness Day and our students spent the day completing much more in-depth and bigger scale acts of kindness through going to the middle school across the street, cleaning up the neighborhood, and delivering messages and gifts to others. The students placed positive and encouraging notes on the middle school lockers, hung signs in London Middle School, the Administration Building, and Field Elementary. The students delivered individual treats to teachers and staff in London Middle School, the Administration Building, and Field Elementary, and hung signs up in local businesses. Area businesses and Field families donated food on behalf the the 4th graders to use for the teacher treats. Jewel on Rt 83/Lake Cook Rd, Original Bagel and Bialy, Dunkin Donuts Arlington Heights Rd/Rt 83 and Dundee/Arlington Heights Rd, Dengeos, Grande Jakes, and Field PTO all made generous contributions towards making this World Kindness Day a success. The PTO also donated plain white shirts for this day. Teachers then traced “Be Kind” on the front and “#fieldkindness” on the backs of all of the shirts. The students were then given time to decorate and infuse their individuality on the shirts. Our mission of kindness was shared in The Chicago Tribune and The Daily Herald.
