30 weeks of Kindness Challenges
This year we started a Kindness Challenge to see if the 4th graders can spread their kindness beyond Field School. Every week students are given a different Random Act of Kindness to perform. The tasks are things such as holding the door open, writing a thank you card, secretly placing an encouraging note in a book, donating time or items, or complimenting a stranger. We have about 100 students in the grade and almost 34 weeks of school- so in the end we are completing almost 3,400 random acts of kindness! We have a little card that we give the recipient of the RAK and challenge them to continue to pass along the positive energy! These random acts are being tracked on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter by using #fieldkindness. By the end of the school year, we hope to have over 200 public posts documenting the spreading kindness using the #fieldkindness hashtag. We have been noticed or posted by others such as Brad Montague (creator and older brother of Kid President), Leon Logothetis (The Kindness Diaries on Netflix), and the directors of www.randomactsofkindness.org.
