Welcome to S.T.E.M. at Recluse School!
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Students develop problem solving skills , with a focus on hands-on learning with real world applications. Please stop by our lab anytime for an adventure, students would love to share their ideas. We might be coding with Colby and Ozobot, engineering a bridge, creating an amusement park, building with 3D, programming a robot to race the Alaskan Ididarod trail, or using our imaginations for creating the tallest tower. The possibilities are endless!
What's going on in the STEM lab?
In March and April we finished up the ididarod races where students programmed their robots to run a course based off of the Alaskan Ididarod Northern route. Some of the students even had their robots barking! We also had great fun learning about aerodynamics, air resistance, inertia and terminal velocity with the Egg drop Challenge! We had a three-way tie which was amazing! We learned about scale size and how it applies to architecture, marketing and sculpting.
