Animal Care

Many of the critters at the Science Center were donated by their previous owners because they were unable to properly care for them for various reasons. We feel it is very important to educate the public on many different animals by providing some basic information such as cost, diet, life span, habitat, and owner challenges. If you are considering buying or adopting an animal, please look at some of our links below to make sure you are purchasing the correct animal for your lifestyle.

If you are in need of an animal shelter for your animal, please look at our link, No-Kill Animal Shelters In Wyoming, for a list of shelters in our area, or call the Campbell County Animal Shelter. If you cannot properly care for your animal, please find it a new loving home or shelter.

The Science Center receives multiple calls each year on animals that are found in our area. We will refer you to the best contact in these cases. However, if you find an animal that belongs in the wild and is not injured, please leave it where you find it. Many of these calls are for turtles. Always leave the animal in its natural habitat!!

If you have questions that are not addressed in the links provided, please call Lu Ruff, Science Center Assistant, at 307-686-3821 ext. 119 for further information or to be referred to another contact.
