Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Jaymie Giordano, and I am excited and delighted to be your child's music teacher! Music has always been a passion of mine, and I am eager to embark on this musical journey alongside your student. My mission is to cultivate strong foundational skills for musicianship and a lifelong love, appreciation, and curiosity for music.
This school year promises to be an exciting adventure filled with musical opportunities, events, and plenty of fun! I look forward to getting to know you and your child better as we explore the wonderful world of music together.
Before we dive into the year, I would love to share a bit about myself. After over a decade-long career as a pastry chef, I returned to school to pursue my passion. I graduated in May of 2024 from Metropolitan State University of Denver in Colorado with my degree in Music Education. During my time in Colorado, I was the interim principal clarinet for the Aurora Symphony for the Spring 2022 season, I played for six years with the Denver Mandolin Orchestra, and I played in a side-by-side concert between MSU Denver and the Colorado Symphony. I teach private lessons on several instruments, including clarinet, bass clarinet, mandolin, violin, viola, cello, string bass, piano, voice, flute, saxophone, and ukulele, and I'm certified to teach several other instruments.
My teaching philosophy is simple: music is for everyone and it's meant to be shared and appreciated. Music provides a window into worlds that may or may not be similar to our own, and music provides mirrors for us to be able to see ourselves in someone elses art. In our class, students will enjoy musics from all over the world, from performers and composers of diverse backgrounds. We will enjoy making, writing, singing, dancing, performing, reading, and responding to music.
I'm looking forward to making this a fantastic year for our young musicians! In support of helping your child succeed in their education, please feel free to email me with any information you feel may benefit your student in my classroom.
Thank you!
Musically,
Jaymie Giordano
