June 13th: Varsity Baseball Claims the Section 1 Class A Title

Despite the inconsistencies of in person versus online learning, there was one thing that remained constant during the Spring of 2021: North’s dominance in baseball. With efforts from Corey Savedoff, Matt Savedoff, Chase Barley, Brandon Scalisi, and Jacob Barrett, the Rams beat Tappan Zee by a score of 14-2. Allowing only two runs in the championship, Corey Savedoff put on a show that North students will never forget. He now attends the University of Rhode Island and will play for their Division 1 baseball program in the spring. The Spring 2021 season was North’s 2nd section title in baseball in the last 3 years. Don’t sleep on North!
June 19th: Clarkstown North Appears in NYS Track and Field Showcase - Michael Nunes Places 10th for 2000M Steeplechase

School president? Track star? What can this man not do? At the New York State Showcase, Michael Nunes represented the Clarkstown North Track and Field Team. He placed 10th in the State for Steeplechase with an outstanding time of 6:46.98. Michael Nunes is currently attending Northeastern University, but he sure left his mark at North, an experience he will never forget. This year, Nunes shared a message for students: “Although running in states was one of my biggest accomplishments within my running career, it wasn’t what defined me as the person I am today. It’s the idea that the odds in life will not be in your favor, but that doesn’t mean giving up. It means going that extra mile, and admiring pain as a gift rather than a sign of weakness. Going into that last meet of my high school career, I wasn’t worried about how well I would do, but rather I soaked it all in and reminded myself of why I started. To simply prove to people that you don’t have to start at the top, but to finish there! And that will carry on with me throughout my college career, and all the future endeavors in my life. So long story short, to all the people reading this, fight against the odds, embrace the fear of failure, and make others wish they had supported you when you were at the bottom. Love you North…KEEP FIGHTING 💜💛”.
September 17th: Return of Friday Night Lights: Pat Reynolds Named OL of the Year

The return of Friday Night Lights! What a great way to start the school year! On September 17th, the Rams played Eastchester on the Vincent Festa Field, and amazed all their fans. With incredible efforts from captains Pat Reynolds, Nick Maritato, Lex Malizia, and Alex Billelo, North won 40-14. Football was officially back. Pat Reynolds and Alex Billelo were selected to the All-Section team, while Nick Maritato and Nick Chykhun made the All-Conference team.
Reynolds, Class A League South Offensive Lineman of the year, said, “The things we accomplished this year after a difficult COVID season last year were unimaginable. From going 0-6, to having a 5-2 regular season with All League, Conference, County, Section, and State caliber players was a huge step forward for this program. Having fans on Friday night made the difference in this season: the energy, volume, the feeling is what makes football, football. It made our team better and the school spirit better. Playing at north was like something I never would have anticipated, the intensity, team camaraderie, and skill was nothing that I was prepared for and it was a great way to end my senior year and high school football career.”
Pat is committed to play for East Stroudsburg University next fall. For more information about the Varsity Football season, read "The Return of Friday Night Football" by clicking here.

November 5th: Girls Soccer Win the NYS Regional Championship
The CHSN Girls Soccer Team made school history as the first soccer team to win not only a Sectional 1A Title, but also a New York State Regional Championship! With victories over highly ranked Albertus Magnus and Rye, the Rams claimed the section title. However, they didn’t slow down, beating Minisink Valley in double overtime, claiming a Regional NYS Title. With incredible efforts from All-Rockland County Players, Hannah McKiverkin, Sydney Ferst, Alexa Buxbaum, Laura Bialek, Michelle Robinson, and Sammi Caivano, the team became NYS Class A Semifinalists. Rams Horn’s own Sports Editor, Sydney Ferst described the season: “When we started off the soccer season we played a scrimmage and we lost 1-0. None of us really played our best and we all felt a little discouraged after that. After finishing the season and making it all the way to the NYS final four and beating great competition to get there, we had come such a long way since that first scrimmage in August. We were all so dedicated and worked so hard and we turned our whole season around in just two months. The season was so special because all of us will forever be the first girls soccer Section and Regional champs in North history!” For more information on the historic season, click here.
