Homework is a necessary tool in completing one's educational experience. It is an important piece of the puzzle where one can practice what was learned in class. Research shows that repetition is the key to success in solidifying one's knowledge, and therefore, skills should be repeated at home to reinforce and facilitate the retention of those skills. Enough said . . .

Please help your child to form good work habits. You can expect your child to be reading 20 - 30 minutes each night and recording it in a log. There will be regular spelling and math assignments, and occasionally some written work. If your child is unable to complete class work, he/she may have that to finish as well. You can check to see that he/she is using the assignment pad every night, that assignments are written in, and you can go through the backpack with your child and check items off a list. In the event a student is absent, work will be collected and left in the office, unless the family requests otherwise on the "homework buddy" form. A reasonable attempt should be made to complete assigned work before returning to school, including calling a friend. In the event a student is unable to complete the assigned work, we ask that the family write a note.
