Reading and Writing in Third Grade

In order to develop our reading and writing skills, students will be regularly reading appropriately-leveled texts and responding thoughtfully to what they are reading. Consistent efforts to strengthen our skills include:

• "Word-Work" featuring vocabulary
• Grammar lessons
• Reading response notebooks completed regularly in school
• Reading logs completed regularly
• Usage of the "writing process," including brainstorming, planning, drafting, editing and revising, and publishing

We have a great year ahead of us!
