We are enjoying our reading and discussions of Esperanza's riches to rags journey to the United States in Pam Munoz's inspirational novel, Esperanza Rising. Our essays describing Esperanza's character change throughout the story were remarkable!
Additionally, we finished crafting some incredible personal narratives. As writers, we have learned a variety of ways to generate ideas for a personal narrative, developed strong leads for our stories, and even used amazing language to "show" instead of merely "telling" in our works. Now we are working to become better informational writers as we head west in our Westward Expansion unit.
