At Felix Festa Middle School, our school counselors are certified, professional educators recognized by the New York State Education Department. We play an essential role in each student’s education, dedicated to their academic, social, and emotional well-being. Through collaboration with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community liaisons, we develop and implement programs that support student growth and success.
Our counselors meet with students individually and in groups to help them recognize their unique strengths and navigate personal and social challenges. We address topics such as study skills, time management, test anxiety, academic intervention, motivation, and conflict resolution. Additionally, we work closely with special education and 504 committees to assess and support students in achieving academic success.
As school counselors, we provide a range of services, including:
Promoting positive self-esteem and encouraging a supportive school environment
Assisting teachers and parents in helping students reach their full potential
Helping students navigate the natural challenges of adolescence
Coordinating with school specialists, including teachers, psychologists, social workers, and administrators
Providing a safe space where students can express concerns and seek guidance
At the middle school level, students undergo a critical period of transition and development. Their rapidly changing brains require patience, understanding, and structured support. We believe that student success is best achieved through a collaborative team effort involving educators, parents, and administrators. Middle school counseling offers a unique opportunity to guide young adolescents through these formative years, fostering confidence, resilience, and a motivation to learn.
We are proud to be part of your child’s educational journey and remain committed to their personal and academic growth as key members of the student-school-home team.
