Welcome to the CCSD Multilingual Programs website! At Clarkstown Central School District, we celebrate the rich diversity that multilingual learners bring to our schools. We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students from all language backgrounds feel valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. Through research-based instruction, cultural appreciation, and strong family partnerships, we ensure that every multilingual learner receives the resources and opportunities they need to succeed academically and socially. Our goal is to foster a community where language is seen as an asset and every student is supported in developing multilingualism.
English Language Learners (ELLs), in kindergarten through twelfth grade, receive instruction in English language acquisition in each of our schools by certified, experienced TESOL teachers.
The Clarkstown School District launched a dual-language kindergarten program in the 2025-2026 school year at Strawtown Elementary School. For the 2026-2027 school year, our dual-language kindergarten class will be located at Little Tor Elementary School. The program follows a 50/50 English-Spanish instructional model, starting in kindergarten, to promote biliteracy for all students.
The Dual Language Program is available to all families of incoming kindergarten students. Students enrolled in the Dual Language Program will receive the District’s complete grade level curriculum through the child’s home language and the second language.
