Meet the Teacher

My name is Willie Patton and I am 37 years old. I was born and raised in Cumberland County. I graduated with honors from CCHS in 2003. I played four years of basketball and four years of baseball at CCHS. After graduating in 2003, I went to Roane State Community College where I received a baseball scholarship and an academic scholarship. After Roane State, I transferred to Tennessee Tech University. I graduated cum laude (with honors) in 2007. My first teaching job came at North Cumberland Elementary. I taught 6th grade for a half year, and 4th grade for a whole year. I’ve taught 5th, 6th, and 7th grade at Stone Elementary since 2009. I have two children. My daughter Aniston is in 6th grade and my son Jasper is in 3rd grade.

I have high expectations in my classroom. I want my students to have positive attitudes, consistent effort, and the eagerness to succeed. We all have bad days ever once in a while and we can deal with that, but we can't deal with constant bad days. Constant bad days affect others in various ways. I will not tolerate continuous class disruption. It slows down the flow of the class and frustrates the students who are trying to learn and master each standard. I expect all students to come to class prepared and equipped with the right materials. If all students follow the rules and expectations, we will have a positive and fun year. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by email or Remind.
