Meet the Teacher

Welcome to Ms. Isbell's Kindergarten.

I have been a Kindergarten teacher for 20+ years. I have also taught 3rd grade, PreK, and been a computer trainer for teachers. I love teaching Kindergarten because you see such growth thru the year. I strongly believe in structure and discipline. I also strongly believe that all kids can be successful and learn. All kids learn differently, so I use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate these varied learning styles. It is so important for kids to understand the importance of learning and that even if you don't succeed at first, you must keep trying.

I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii as I am from a military family. We moved all over the United States and I was exposed to many different cultures. My father's last duty station was at Tennesse Tech as the Professor of Military Science in the ROTC Department. I attended TTU after graduation from Cookeville Senior High School. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. During my time at TTU, I also taught at the Tech Early Enrichment Program with kids from 2 - 5 years in age. I then entered teaching in a public school at North Cumberland. I was overjoyed to be selected to help open Stone Elementary and have been here ever since.
