Welcome to Mr. Johnson's Guitar Class! I am so thrilled to have you in this class! Throughout the course of this semester, you will learn the basics of playing guitar. In this class, you will learn how to:

• Read and understand music notation

• The basic parts of the guitar

• How to hold the instrument

• How to play the instrument

• How to read and understand chord diagrams

• How to read and understand lead sheets

As a member of the guitar class here at CCHS, there is a recommended course fee, and you have two options to fulfill your course fees. The first option is to donate a set of guitar strings to the guitar program. Click here to go to Amazon to purchase the set of strings. If you don't want to buy a set of strings to donate to the program, your second option to fulfill your recommended course fee is to donate $20 to the guitar program to go towards purchasing replacement strings as needed. This is a recommended fee but is not required.
