Meet the Teacher

Hello,

My name is Brandon Michael.

Before beginning teaching, I previously worked as a Special Education Assistant for four years. During that time, I worked with students ranging from Pre-K to 8th grade.  I was able to learn many lessons that helped me to better understand and meet the varied needs of all students that I worked with.   After teaching summer school at Crab Orchard Elementary, I knew that this was the school I wanted to be at.  Now, I am happy to call Crab Orchard Elementary my home where I am currently teaching fifth grade.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Tennessee Technological University in 2010, and have since went on to pursue my Masters in Elementary Education through Grand Canyon University, which I completed in May of 2021.

As a teacher, I feel that it is important to advocate for the well-being of every student within the classroom.  I aim to build a positive relationship with all students to encourage communication of needs, issues, and concerns so that we may resolve them together.  To best create these relationships, I pledge to interact with each student with sincerity and compassion to provide both intellectual and emotional support.  No two students approach learning the same way, so it is imperative to celebrate the vast diversity found within the classroom.  In doing so, I seek to create a supportive classroom environment where students feel appreciated, welcomed, and safe so that all students can surpass their educational goals and reach their full potential.

Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to share this school year with your children.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me.

Sincerely,

Mr. B
