Individuals who succeed in business, industry, education, and other professional fields often demonstrate strong self-discipline, the ability to lead and motivate others, confidence, and maturity. The Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (MCJROTC) is designed to help young people develop these essential qualities while preparing them to meet the challenges of adulthood.
Through classroom instruction, leadership training, physical fitness, and extracurricular activities, the MCJROTC program develops each cadet's leadership potential, character, self-confidence, and sense of responsibility. The skills and values learned through MCJROTC are applicable regardless of the career or educational path a student chooses after high school.
Students seeking enrollment in MCJROTC should demonstrate high moral character, a willingness to maintain appropriate physical fitness, and a commitment to accepting the challenges and responsibilities of being a Marine Corps JROTC cadet.

CCPS MCJROTC MISSION
Our mission is to support the schools' strategic mission and develop courageous, character-driven young adults who possess the attributes of personal responsibility and accountability in order to become model citizens in service to the United States.
Developing Leaders. Building Character. Preparing Cadets for the Future.
MCJROTC is not a military recruiting program. Our goal is to prepare cadets for continued leadership opportunities through college or university ROTC programs, service academies, military service, or civilian careers after high school.
This is a cadet-led program. Whenever appropriate, leadership, planning, communication, and execution will be accomplished by, with, through, and for the Cadet. Cadets will be given meaningful opportunities to lead, make decisions, solve problems, communicate effectively, and accept responsibility for their actions and outcomes. Our instructors will provide the guidance, standards, mentorship, and oversight necessary for cadets to succeed.
We maintain high standards. A successful MCJROTC program is built on consistent standards of personal appearance, grooming, uniform wear, conduct, discipline, and professionalism. Every cadet is expected to meet these standards every day. By maintaining high expectations, we develop confident, accountable, and disciplined young adults who take pride in themselves, their unit, their school, and their community.
Our ultimate goal is to develop young men and women who are confident, disciplined, responsible, and capable of leading themselves and others—regardless of the path they choose after graduation.
