Google Classroom For Parents

For Parents

What is it?

Google Classroom is a free service that allows teachers and students to connect in various ways- both inside and outside of school.

The benefits of Google Classroom are endless!

  • Google classroom is paperless, so students can never lose work!
  • Students can see assignments on the to-do page, the class stream, and the class calendar.
  • Teachers can create assignments, send announcements, and instantly start class discussions.
  • Students can share resources with each other and interact in the class stream or by email.
  • Teachers can also quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and give direct, real-time feedback and grades.

Can I get into Google Classroom to check on my child's progress?

Absolutely! While you cannot complete or post assignments, you are able to receive updates as often you wish!

How do I get access to my child's Google Classroom?

Getting to Google Classroom is quite easy! Make sure that Mrs. Beck has your most up-to-date email address. She will send out an invite from Google Classroom.

When you open the email, you can then accept the invitation and will be automatically directed to Google Classroom Email settings. There, you will be asked how often you would like updates and what your timezone is.

After you have updated these settings, you will receive updates at your preferred intervals.
