Welcome to the Home of the Thomas Dale High School Orchestras!
Since the year 2000, this outstanding group of young musicians has continuously received Superior ratings at district competitions performing professional caliber literature. They have traveled throughout the Commonwealth and other states and consistently received top honors for their stellar performances.
A few years ago, our Chamber orchestra received National attention after being selected to perform in Nashville, TN for the National Association for Music Educators In-Service Conference, an honor typically reserved for college and professional groups. The TDHS Chamber Orchestra was the only high school level orchestra selected to perform that year. In 2021 our orchestra will be a part of the Internationally acclaimed Menhuin Violin competition.
The orchestras recently took top honors at the Music in the Parks Festival in Williamsburg, VA taking home top prizes in all categories and the top orchestra ensemble overall. The Chamber orchestra has won this top award the last seven years they competed on their own against orchestras from all over the region. This group has also performed with Mark Wood - founding member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Your support through tickets and volunteer time is greatly appreciated. Ticket sale money is used to help defer the high cost of transportation, replace and repair instruments, purchase music, sponsor guest artists and clinicians, and help with outreach.
