bbgb, a local book store in Carytown, is delivering books to the area. Please read the message below from the bookstore.

it's come to this.

oh we so hate to have to do this, but it's time for us to make those hard decisions. our shop is open for now, we have taken steps to be appropriately disinfected, but we expect to be announcing changes to our hours within the next few days.

we have canceled our events through march. this includes our special saturday storytime with author/illustrator angela dominquez, our felting workshop, and our weekly wednesday storytimes. we will reschedule these as soon as it makes sense.

many of you may not know that our bread-and-butter is the book fairs we do at schools throughout richmond, henrico, and chesterfield. it's the bbgb fairs that allow us to maintain our bbgb shop. so no school means no fairs. that hits a little shop in a big way. (many small businesses are being dramatically impacted, please try to shop local whenever you can.)

so we've put our heads together and have some ways that we can still help you get your book fix!

beginning monday, march 16, we are offering free local same-day delivery! (it's great to have a new driver in the family who is out of school for three weeks...) for all orders over $20 placed by 3pm, we will deliver straight to your door. orders received after 3pm will be delivered the following day. right now we will do this within a 10ish mile radius from the shop. we've updated our website with some of our new favs and our most popular titles, so take a look at book buzz to place an online order. or call the shop and we can take orders of any titles we have in stock. of course we are very happy to make recommendations. we are pretty darn good at that.

are you an audiobook fan? sign up for libro.fm. it's just like audible, only better! when you purchase an audiobook, you can select us as your independent book shop and a portion of your purchase will come to us. best of all, your first month is free!

this might be a good time to look at our book of the month program, a year of tales. (you can do a half-year of tales too.) what's better than a new book arriving on your doorstep every month? (really, the only thing would be if it came with a cup of coffee and a bar of dark chocolate. hmm...)

we are working on other ways that we'll be sharing stories with you, so stay tuned! and thanks for being such wonderful customers and friends, we couldn't do this without you.

and wash your hands

don't touch your face

read, read, read :)
